Last Day
Location : Metro-Manila, Philippines
Hang-over
Waking up at 7AM with a mild hangover and not enough sleep, I had to skip my workout (again!).
Goodbyes
Tony Ancheta and daughter Bai were a pleasant morning surprise. They stopped by to bid me goodbye...and so did
Noel Alparaz, a former alter-ego whom I hung-out with, a good 2 years of my life in high school when Joey Smith was "nagna-rock en roll sa ulan".
Julia Clarete
Dad and Senn prepared a send-off lunch for me. I wanted Julia to be there. As timing would have it, I caught her as she was just leaving her place.
Lunch was in order...then
billiards...then just being
lazy on a Saturday afternoon after a full stomach.
The Letter
We later headed to her place for me to view more of her work - film clips, paintings, music, etc. I felt privileged to be allowed to read her deceased father's last letter to her. Being a dad myself, I couldn't help but be moved and learn from someone who's seen it all.
An Early Goodbye
I couldn't join her to the Lotus Eaters concert due to a previously arranged dinner engagement. It seems that when it rains, it pours.
