Vipassana Meditation Late October, I restarted my 1-hour Vipassana meditation. I do it when I wake up at 4:30am from all the street noise. It was initially hard to go back to a full hour of meditation. Hopefully, I can make this a daily thing.
Ardha Matsyendrasana(Half Lord of the Fishes)
$10 Pay-Video Although still 'in the works', I began something I've put off for too long - an online video of a yoga class people can pay for. This is passive income that can support my fulltime yoga pursuit. The format I had with Marky of selling whole courses wasn't resonating. But this new one feels right. On my 'yoga class blogs', I would develop a 'Private' video on the page. It becomes accessible to my users who pay $10 in Bitcoin. It's a small amount and I wanted to package it as a small donation. The written blog by itself is already enough for anyone to do the practice. Therefore, the payment for the video should feel very voluntary. I posted 4 videos to date from earlier works, but I need to develop new videos for new classes like Forever Young and Siddhis. I'm looking at Kapwing for my video editing.
Daily Bike Ride to Bolo Bolo The one thing I'd like to be consistent with is this daily uphill bike ride to my fav water spring. It's a cardiovascular workout (on the bike), an isometric workout (in the pool) and it's a refreshing dip into cold clean water. It's been 2 months now and I can feel my strength and form coming back. Sometimes it gets dark already for a dip but I still do my bike ride without the splash.
Yoga Makaranda I and II Finally, this book was completed. Given the few yoga books I've read, this book had so much unrealized potential. In hindsight, I wish Krishnamacharya had a fulltime and professional editor to polish his works and point out what had to be added, refined and simplified. I don't think I can recommend this book. The closest to being recommended would be Hatha Yoga Pradipika, but even that wasn't a simple read. So far, nearly every yoga book I read sounds like a repetition of what I've already read before. Nothing fresh is coming up - nothing that I can add to my practice. I'm still looking for ways to level-up. For now, I can level-up by holding the breath or the pose longer - but I'm looking for new techniques and teachings.
Intermittent Fasting (Oct 24) Stumbling into David Sinclair motivated me to resume fasting, but not the Wim Hof Method(1 day fasting/week) anymore. Once a week makes me forget to fast, and with 6 eating-days to play around, I tend to be reckless with my eating habit. I still eat healthy, but a little too much most of the time. I can't help it. I love food.
With Sinclair, it's Intermittent Fasting(16-hour no-food in a day). I finish breakfast at 11 am and finish dinner at 7 pm, then breakfast again at 11 am the following day. To my pleasant surprise, this regularized and regimented my fluctuating yoga practice.
I was the most productive today with yoga workouts in the morning (I had to make sure I finish morning yoga before my 11 am breakfast, or forego it) - same thing in the pm. I had to ensure that I finish my bike ride/splash at Bolo Bolo and do my pm yoga before I eat at 7 pm or forego it again (because I cannot do yoga on a full stomach).
No Recreational Youtube (Oct 24) I noticed that a great deal of my time is eaten up by Youtube watching entertaining educational videos, but once started, it's hard to stop. Nowadays, there are so many AI-generated content that's essentially fluff. Also, I am getting too much about the Israel-Palentine war and the Ukranian War. I restriced my viewing to Yoga-related videos only. For today, it was mostly David Sinclair videos on longevity and eating. It works.
Yoga Teacher at Cebu's Henry Hotel I received a message from my SEMEN Pards, Jun Que, asking if I'm interested in teaching yoga at Cebu's Henry Hotel. This means relocating back to Cebu. I have already invested time, effort and money here in Siquijor. But I'm not attached. I'm open to change. I will miss Bolo Bolo if I leave Siquijor, but Cebu means I'll have a community and engage in social interactions - something I miss. I'm practically in isolation here in Siquijor.

More on Lazi:
Lazi Local Info
Resorts - Lazi has some beach/dive resorts on its west coast - Gabayan Riviera, Lazi Beach Club, Bahura Dive Resort. However, the popular area for tourist resorts are in San Juan
Transport - Lazi is the junction where the jeeps begin their clockwise route (Lazi-San Juan-Siquijor Port) or the counter clockwise route (Lazi-Maria-Larena Port). Because the jeeps are rare with about 2 to 3 trips/day only in the morning, it's practical to just have a motorcycle here in Siquijor. With its affordability (a brand new Rusi motorbike is as low as P45k), people just buy motorcycles...especially those who live up in the mountains.
The Boulevard - Lazi's main draw is its seaside cobblestone promenade. When the sun goes down, people gather here for eats, drinks, open-air, harbor view and the sunset
Lazi Port - Lazi just recently opened up its port with Kho Shipping plying the Iligan, Tagbilaran and Cebu routes.
Lazi >> Iligan City by boat
Lazi to Iligan City route by Kho Shipping was just opened up in early April 2023. Before, going to Iligan City meant going to Siquijor Port, 30 km away. Lazi to Cebu entails a stopover at Tagbilaran - you only pay for one ticket (I've broken down the individual trips in case you're boarding from Tagbilaran). From the 5pm boat departure from Lazi, it would cost PHP 1000 (it's odd that it's cheaper to pay for the individual trips rather than paying for both...PHP 845 vs 1000) and take about 10 hours.

Siquijor - Cebu (Liloan) - Cebu City BUS Trip(as of Jan 2023)
There is only one bus plying this route - Sugbo Urban. Tourist class coach, a/c, comfortable, Sun-Fri (these dates keep changing). P420 for bus, P275 for ferry to Liloan. Larena Port around 5 am, makes a clockwise roundtrip around Siquijor Island - Larena, Enrique Villanueva, Maria, Lazi (stops at Lazi market for breakfast and leaves 6:50 am), San Juan, Siquijor (arrives 8am, P50 from Lazi to Siquijor Poblacion) and catches the 1pm ferry at Larena Port (Sundays at 3 pm) for Liloan, Cebu and resumes its land route. Arrives Cebu City (South Bus Terminal) 10 pm.
Sugbo Urban is the cheapest and most convenient way because it goes around the island (clockwise) along the circumferential road, passing through - Enrique Villanueva, Maria, Lazi, San Juan, Siquijor...and back to Larena where it takes the ferry at 1 pm. This saves you the hassle and high transport cost of a tricycle. Besides, it's a long trip from the other side of the island to be taking by tricycle.
