Online Pranayama Class Marky and I had been developing my online pranayama classes while I was in Siquijor and he was in Cebu City. I provide content and he takes care of putting it up online, marketing and developing the payment stream. I'd been sporadically doing my end of our agreement...writing a script and doing a mock video shoot just to rehearse the process.
Why a Pranayama class? Because it's what excites me and besides, nearly all yoga teachers teach asana or meditation...not pranayama.
Passive Income While I've done live online yoga classes, I've never done a canned on-demand video class for a faceless public. The idea excited me initially for only one purpose - passive income. It's the only way I see how I can take it easy and enjoy my day-to-day without having to think of what I do next when my current money runs out.
Exploring Siquijor We mixed duty and pleasure by going on-location on our shoots - Gabayan Riviera, Bolo Bolo Spring, Cambugahay Falls, Monkey Beach, Sabas Beach, Secret Beach, and the Boulevard. It's not all work. Sometimes, we just go out for fun - Ghost Ship, Triad (in Larena), Gabayan coastline road trip, Sambulawan underground river (too pricey at P250/pax + guide). Sometimes, we just default on the Boulevard for beer and bbq. Occasionally, Kris would also be joining us. Having a motorcycle during his visit was invaluable. The motorbike also allowed me to lend him my bicycle for his mobility.
at Aquamarie Resort with LTO Chief Sir Gerald after Marky did a video-shoot of the talk I delivered at the United Church of Christ
Ending Thoughts By the time Marky left for Cebu, we have done all the video shooting for phase 1 of the project - only 3 pranayama (Ujjayi, Kapalbhati and Nadi Shodan). Next is to register with Udemy and upload the videos. Of course, there will be much work in between. I see this phase as a 'trial' to perfect the business model. By having a live site, we can go through the process and identify weaknesses that need to be improved.
Honestly though, I have to drag myself to complete this project. While pragmatic, it doesn't motivate me. Often, I feel I'm being unfair to Marky. I can almost hear my universe talking to me, "Why do you have to do all this when you already know I have you covered?". It's not that I've lost interest in yoga. No. In fact, I'd rather just devote my time learning more and going deeper into my yoga practice instead of doing this online yoga class. Still, I have to do my due-diligence.
(Mar 17 - Apr 15, 2023) After Chiang Mai, Kris and I continued to keep in touch. He embarked on a long-term nomadic existence. He was in Bali when he decided to pay me a visit here in Siquijor...more »»

Lite Ferries - at Larena Port, T-Th-Sun, 2:00 am, 5 hours, PHP?
Siquijor - Cebu (Liloan) - Cebu City BUS Trip(as of Jan 2023)
There is only one bus plying this route - Sugbo Urban. Tourist class coach, a/c, comfortable, Sun-Fri (these dates keep changing). P420 for bus, P275 for ferry to Liloan. Larena Port around 5 am, makes a clockwise roundtrip around Siquijor Island - Larena, Enrique Villanueva, Maria, Lazi (stops at Lazi market for breakfast and leaves 6:50 am), San Juan, Siquijor (arrives 8am, P50 from Lazi to Siquijor Poblacion) and catches the 1pm ferry at Larena Port (Sundays at 3 pm) for Liloan, Cebu and resumes its land route. Arrives Cebu City (South Bus Terminal) 10 pm.
Sugbo Urban is the cheapest and most convenient way because it goes around the island (clockwise) along the circumferential road, passing through - Enrique Villanueva, Maria, Lazi, San Juan, Siquijor...and back to Larena where it takes the ferry at 1 pm. This saves you the hassle and high transport cost of a tricycle. Besides, it's a long trip from the other side of the island to be taking by tricycle.
