Hot Kawa Bath at Kayak Inn
GPS waypoint: 11°19'04.55"N, 122°04'38.24"E
Location: Kayak Inn, Tibiao (municipality), Antique (province), Philippines
Kawa Trend Kayak Inn's hot kawa-bath started the hot-kawa trend here in Tibiao (perhaps in the Philippines). It was recently featured in Kim Atienza's Matang Lawin TV program as well as Smile flight magazine. Now, a lot of establishments joined the fray. With Outback Greg's invite to join him on the kawa, we made the short trip from Boracay to Tibiao's Kayak Inn

Kawa Bath An added plus about the kawa is the view. They are all lined-up by the elevated river bank offering a vista of the rapids. The staff prepare the kawa by filling it with water from a nearby spring. Fire is made by using old bamboo (for renewability). Fresh aromatic leaves are added to the bath for that spa feeling. The hot bath is very relaxing as your body complies to the kawa contour with your neck aptly supported by the tapered kawa lid. After about 30 minutes, you would feel that you've had enough.
Nipa Hut Lodging The nipa hut I stayed at is good for up to 5 pax. With a hammock-friendly porch overlooking the river, it was postcard perfect. I would spend lazy afternoons on my hammock by the porch with a river view.
Ending Thoughts Just fresh from the waterfall trek, white water river kayaking awaited followed by a hot kawa bath...whoa! Tibiao is beginning to resemble the many layered dimension of an onion...you peel a layer to reveal another Easter Egg.
