Zombie Film
This is a zombie film but unlike the typical B-movie cheap horror jump-scares, this is a serious film drawing deep down into the human condition of loss, separation, loneliness and survival.

M: End of Days (2023)
Marko comes upon an abandoned city after leaving the forest

Synopsis
A child, Marko, lives with his paranoid father deep in the forest hiding from the 'evil' ones. He meets a friend, an autistic boy, and they run away from the forest when Marko's Dad is infected by the zombies. They come upon an abandoned city infested with Zombies. They now have to fight for their survival until they reach the fabled Stone Valley (which was the abandoned city).

Acting
Acting was amazing from everyone. The entire acting was subdued, always having an ominous air to what might happen. Marko's underacting was done through facial emoting.

Cinematography
Being lost in the forest was perfectly shot by a drone giving the breathtaking expanse of the forest with little leaf movement by a puny human. The Zombies were mostly mincely edited silhouette shots giving more a sense of chaos than an in-your-face Zombie head held together by a few strips of flesh.

Ending Thoughts
One thing good about seeing a non-Hollywood film is that it's refreshingly different. The whole treatment is different. It's like meeting many Americans (who claim they are all individually unique) and then suddenly, you mean a guy from North Macedonia who has an interesting story to tell. This is one of the better movies I've seen lately. Highly recommended.

Luckily, prepackaged Thai sauces, pastes, coconut cream and noodles are available at ICM Mall in Tagbilaran. This is the first time I'll be cooking Thai cuisine. Crossing my fingers....more »»
