Sunrise Yoga at Bantawan, Old Airport
(September 2024) On my 4 am alarm, I do Trataka before leaving the house. When I can help it, I begin my practice at the Bantawan Old Airport at 5 am - this gives me more time until the sun begins to hurt. More cardio than before with rope skipping. After the practice, I listen to noteworthy podcasts. September has been a month of intense learning...more »»Thai Food for September?
(September 2024) For September, I think I'll do a little more of Thai-cooking - not from scratch since not all ingredients are locally available. I'll use the bottled sauce/paste imported from Thailand. It should spice things up....more »»Initial Public Offering (IPO)
(September 29, 2024) I have long read books about mergers and acquisitions. The last 2 books I've read, Elon Musk and Steve Jobs (both authored by Walter Isaacson), also talked about buying, selling or merging companies. In all these, the topic of IPO hovers over the corporate landscape. I know what an IPO is, but nothing beyond surface level. With AI, I can now dive deep....more »»Neurons
(September 27, 2024) I have long used the word 'neurons' to describe cognitive abilites. I would say something like, 'the neurons connect with other neurons'. Sometimes, I would interchange the words 'neurons' with 'dendrites'. It just dawned on me to ask, 'What exacty is a neuron?'. Of course, now that we have AI, I asked. Boy, was I in for a rude awakening....more »»Pad Thai
(September 26, 2024) After my Tom Yum Soup, next Thai food is equally famous on the global stage - Pad Thai, again, using Real-Thai pad-thai paste. Looking at the ingredients, they can all be locally obtained. Next time, I'll do it the DIY way. For a change, I'm using shrimps....more »»November Snapshots: Garbage
(March 1-31, 2024) After being in Ormoc and Cebu, it's good to go back home to Tagbilaran despite the garbage episodes, the ruined good roads and the slow cashiers. Oh well, I should really just leave the place if I can't stand it....more »»Tom Yum Soup
(September 6, 2024) I miss Thailand and I miss Tom Yum Soup. In Bohol, Philippines, it's challenging to make this soup from scratch since not all ingredients are locally available. Luckily, prepackaged Thai sauces, pastes, coconut cream and noodles are available at ICM Mall in Tagbilaran. This is the first time I'll be cooking Thai cuisine. Crossing my fingers....more »»M: End of Days (2023)
(September 4, 2024) This is a zombie film but unlike the typical B-movie cheap horror jump-scares, this is a serious film drawing deep down into the human condition of loss, separation, loneliness and survival...more »»
