Cebu City for the Workshop

Cebu with a Folding Bike
My coming to Cebu City, primarily, was to do the Siddhi-Activation workshop. I brought my folding bike with me onboard the Sugbo Urban bus, and biked from South Bus Terminal to Hostel 7 Cebu for a 2-night stay. After the workshop, I made a 3-day visit to Bantayan Island and came back to Cebu and stayed another week - I didn't really feel like going back to Siquijor yet.

Movies on a Bike
With a bike, I roamed around the city streets, going to Ayala Mall, Robinson's Galleria, G Mall and SM City. I watched all the 'good' movies - Dune 2 (worth your money), Godzilla X Kong (this was a stupid movie), One Love (Bob Marley movie). It was a whole new adventure.

Old Habits
Quickly, I defaulted to my old habits whenever I'm in Cebu City - half-priced goodies at Abaca Baking from 8-9 pm, morning taho by the corner of Cebu Doctors, malling at the 4 malls in Cebu (there's none in Siquijor), movie watching, Dairy Queen. I didn't even attend any yoga class except for the workshop I conducted.

Preparing for the Move to Bantayan
Having decided that I move to Bantayan, I didn't bother to bring back my things to Siquijor. I left them all in Cebu at the hostel - bike, yoga mat, dirty laundry, shopping items, etc. This lessens the things I have to bring with me when I leave Siquijor.

Ending Thoughts
For the most part, I explored Cebu alone, on a bicycle. Friends I thought I could hang out with were nowhere. Perhaps it was a good thing. It made me do things I wouldn't otherwise do. Exploring Cebu's city streets on a folding bike was a whole new experience. Staying in Cebu for that length of time with nothing really to do was a leisurely chill all by itself. I needed this before coming back to Siquijor and start packing, bracing myself for the new chapter that looms on the horizon - Bantayan.

Bantayan: in search of a home

(March 23-26, 2024) Marky brought up Bantayan after the workshop. I remember asking Mikko a year ago what place he will settle down for life if Cebu was no longer an option. He said Bantayan. Hmmm...maybe this is the universe talking to me. This is the best time to visit Bantayan in search of a new home since I was already in Cebu City. Impromptu, I asked Marky if he would like to go with me to Bantayan the next day, all expenses paid. I'm glad he said yes.
