Chatuchak Weekend Market
No visit to Bangkok is complete without stopping by the very popular Chatuchak Weekend Market. Chatuchak is HUGE, spanning 35 acres and claims to be the world's biggest weekend market. It has 15,000 stalls and receives 200,000 visitors per week! Products range from food, fashion, art, clothing, accessories, household items and unique one-of-a-kinds. It takes more than a whole day to walk its entirety with all the stops - best to pace yourself by doing a few tea/snack stops.

I caught the tail-end of it as I arrived late Sunday afternoon. Still, it was packed with mostly Asian tourists. The afternoon shower didn't dampen the spirit of the weekend shoppers either.

Ending Thoughts
Chatuchak Market with its sheer size and diversity of products/services sold is always a sensory overload. There is always a good find even you just want an afternoon walkabout. Yes, when in Bangkok, don't miss out on Chatuchak Market. Remember that smiling when haggling just might get you that deal.

Another market alternative for wholesale shopping and cheaper price would be Sampeng Market in Chinatown. When in Bangkok, shop til you drop!
