a nomad in search of... | |
May 23 Sunday Xavierville I was awaken by the sound of boxing gloves hitting a bag. It was TJ and LA doing their boxing training with their personal trainer, Rey. I joined them in the workout doing my mock rope skipping and abs. Brunch was like a fiesta...lots a good food - grilled prawns, escargots, stuffed grilled milk fish and coconut juice. This is a long wayzz from my meager baguette/cheese walk-about meal as I was touring France and Italy. Ali and his family, Noreen and 3-onth old Anika were there. Their chocolate cake reminded me of Cookie Monster, a dessert place known for their moist and rich chocolate cake. I was given a new cell phone for my use. It seems my Canadian cell won't accept Phil. SIM cards. I haven't settled yet in Xavierville and I found myself packing again for the trip to Boracay, an island resort known for their fine sand and beach parties. It's in the province of Aklan, a 1.5 hour plane ride from Manila. With TJ and Gold, we stopped by Alabang for dinner at Cable Car. Ivan, TJ's Jiu-jitsu teammate, joined us at Starbucks and we headed out to crash at Gold's place in Las Pinas. It was a sprawling unit occupying the entire 3rd floor of a multi-unit complex. Nobody really lived there except for the help.ARCHIVE 2025:
