You would hardly see the place on any guide book for backpacking destinations. To the locals in all of Vietnam, Hai Phong conjures imagery of being a two-fisted place. Yes, this is where the tough guys are. North Vietnamese are known to be tough people, but even in the north, Hai Phong commands a higher level of respect.
