a nomad in search of... | |
January 27, 2003 Monday Bourée on hold I've seen families with a lot of children...too many the parents can no longer devote due attention and care to all of them individually. It's unfair to the kids. That's how I feel about the simultaneous endeavors I've put in motion...flute lesson, mutual fund course, French lesson, daily workout, Lucid Thought entries, readings into the astral projection, and beginning next week, yoga...on top of my 8:30 to 5:00 job. There's too many I'm spread out thinly. There's only 24 hours in a day....and I need the 8 hours for my sleep. I'm not able to keep up to my schedule and my falling behind causes me to lose sleep even more. A decision has to be made. It's with difficulty and a sense of defeat that I have to put on hold the most expendable: learn to play the flute so I can play Bourée. Like the Don Valley jump and bridge crossing that I've copped-out of and have haunted me since, this is one more psychological burden I'll have to carry. Be what you wanna be, Do what you wanna do, Go where you wanna go.....has become more elusive than ever. Burning Man tickets Today is the first day tickets are put on sale. The event doesn't take place until late August yet the lowest priced tickets are already sold out! Fortunately, I was able to get myself a ticket at the next lowest price. I've also registered for a Media pass. I have yet to hear from them. Additionally, I've already made arrangements with my employer regarding holiday scheduling. I'm one step closer now to making Burning Man a reality for me. Next step: securing airline ticket, arranging for car rental in Reno, Nevada and deciding if I should bring my mountain bike with me. Things are beginning to take shape...woohoo!
