September 16, 2002 Monday Level 2 French Level 1 ended for me on August 29 on a positive note. The class was wholesome and engaging. Level 2 could be no less. Level 2 started with the same teacher, Ms. Marguerite - elegant and charming with a lot of class. Maybe that's the typical Parisian. The class size is 13 - quite big, ranging from advanced students to those struggling with the fundamentals but nonetheless showing enthusiasm about the learning process - that's what it's all about anyway. Just like the first day of class in any school, you see the animated, the silent, the confident, the observer (trying to get the feel of the scene) and the charmingly disarming type - all promising to amalgamate into an equally engaging group as the first level class. It took awhile to warm up to the basics, but it all came back. I can't wait until I can fluently converse in French. As an added motivation (on top of learning a new language), maybe a trip to France when that goal is achieved? Hmmm...sounds good to me. Time to start saving up.
