September 13, 2002 Friday Lunch for Doug and Karen To show appreciation for the lunch treat the Content team received from Karen and Doug, we invited both of them to lunch at Hooraiya, a Japanese restaurant close to the office. Food was generous and decent, conversation was anything but deadlines and work status. It's always good going out with the team over lunch and share a few laughs. One thing I don't like about eating with a big group in a restaurant is that more than likely, the table will be rectangular (except some Chinese restaurants). That means conversation is cut into groups. The guy from the far end won't be able to make conversation to the guy at the other end. The promise of good conversation is needlessly lost. Lunch should be a celebration of company and food - much like a celebration of wine and food in Burgundy. 2 things that are 2 sides of the same coin...inseparable. Circlular tables should be mandatory to restaurants.
