Nose Surgery

On a routine pre-op checkup for my tonsillectomy 2 years back, my doctor found a mild blockage on my nasal passage that kept me from breathing properly. This only confirms what other doctors in the past commented out about my breathing. Bottom line is I had to go under the knife, necessitating a 2-week leave from work under short-term disability.

It's a plane...it's a bird...no...it's Danny!

Ludicrous as this may sound, my greatest apprehension wasn't the surgery itself but the ride going back to the apartment from the hospital. I just wanted to go there by myself and cab it back home without having to bother anybody. However, since I will be under general anesthesia, they won't allow me to go home alone. Who can I molest now into picking me up and possibly giving me a ride back? Once again, my good buddy Danny is there to the rescue. Makes me wonder how many times he has bailed me out of a situation. I wonder if most people out there are fortunate enough to have a Danny. Of course I'd be more than willing to provide the same kind of support if it were the other way around. My only regret being, that opportunity doesn't happen often enough.

Post Op

I'm now back to my place with a bandaged nose and breathing through my mouth. Everything around me is spinning. I can't do anything but just sleep and hope to feel better the following day.
