 In Pursuit of a Hit-and-Run Driver (Apr 25, 2011) I was on my bicycle when a counter-flowing motorbike hit me head-on. I was thrown clear off my bike and landed on the pavement. The right side of my body was in pain. It still wasn't clear to me how extensive my injury was, but I could still manage to talk and move about despite the pain, shock and dizzyness. With presence of mind, I immediately took out my digicam and snapped some pictures. When I told the assailant the cops were on their way, he set out to flee. I told him I have already taken pictures of him, his motorbike and the plate number. If he flees, he'll have hit-and-run to add to his felony. He took no heed and fled quickly.  Dolphin Watching in Bais (Apr 21, 2011) It has been nearly a year since I got wind of the fabled sandbar and the dolphin-watching in Bais when I got an invite from Rene to join him and his visiting relatives for a boat ride in Bais to see the dolphins - cool! Still wired about the dolphin experience, I asked Bianca, another marine-bio friend who is currently working with dolphins, if it's possible to ride a dolphin the way you would ride a horse. She said yes! That got me excited for her. I followed up, "Are you tempted to dress up like Wonder Woman...mask, cape and all, and ride a dolphin alongside a boat full of kids and then disappear before they can call their parents? They'd be all jumpy and excited but no one would believe them! Then the legend of the super heroine dolphin-rider would come to be."...more »» 
 A Walk on Dauin's Coastline (Apr 20, 2011) A Wednesday and the sun was out. Malatapay Market...then dive! As my head was racing, my heart was tentative, not knowing what it wants. I ended up diving the various marine reserves while walking the coast and glimpsing the day-to-day life of the strip's inter-connected lives - the resort staff and guests, the marine reserve caretakers, the local villages, the out-of-town picnickers, and yes, the free-range chickens that'll end up as a flavorful stew...more »»
