Catherine Kuna

When I was in Sitio Dlumay (Sarangani Province) to observe SIBAT's micro hydro project, I took a picture of this friendly B'laan girl as she was milling corn with her friend. Just now, I learned that she's fighting for her life as she was rushed to Davao City for a gunshot wound.

Catherine is an orphan and her age is not known. A boy was playing with a hunting gun when it discharged and hit Catherine on her right side.

Dlumay is a Type 5 sitio...meaning it's a poor community with an illiteracy rate of 98%. Medical cost for Catherine is unaffordable to her family and to the village. Please help out. A little from everyone adds up meaningfully.
To those who wish to help, you can deposit money to: Banco de Oro, account #1750086202. Please contact the following to advise amount AND branch location (they will then confirm receipt):
  • CLANS (Center for Lumad Advocacy and Service, Inc.), Gen. San - clanspkt@yahoo.com
