a nomad in search of... | |
This edition is focused on that quintessential mtb breed...dirt-loving hammerheads returning home after a white-knuckle downhill run or a quad-bursting epic climb and firing-up the PC (or Mac) cranking out web pages for their mtb sites so they can share their guts and passion with guys like you and me. Not because they're selling you something (although sponsorship revenue is certainly welcome) but for pure love of the sport. They burn the midnight candle tweaking the codes, resizing the images, debugging the script, surfing the 'net for trouble shooting tips, etc. It doesn't stop at the effort. They also reach deep down in their pockets to pay for web hosting fees, domain name registration/renewals, ISP charges...you get the idea. How do we show our appreciation to their selfless efforts? You can pass the url to the next hammerhead, you can click on their sponsors or you can email them about your ideas. Join me in celebrating these individuals who keep our sport alive...in the trails and on the 'net. -- TheLoneRider
If gore is your cup of tea, look no further. This site shows us the price we all pay for that glorious moment on the saddle. Be sure to have your health insurance coverage updated before clicking. DropMachine This dynamic duo (Jon Thorpe and Jeff Monk) is pure synergy of bike and web with absolute dedication. Riding is transcended from transportation to a lifestyle choice...a religion if you will. Not for the faint of heart but for that serious warrior who lives and breathes freeriding, DH, trials, urban assault and big air. Canadian Cycle Get to know Michael, a Canadian cyclist doing bike time in Korea, and view the country through his eyes by reading his journal. Bike Addict Here's one engaging site that has a little bit of everything...reviews, bike terms, links, polls, videos, trails, etc. Mountain Bike Stop "I realize that at this point in my bike career that I am not really sponsorship material but please consider looking over this site to see how I am coming along. I am working hard and trying to do well ...." -- Greg Jess (1st placer Trail Max Duathalon)
