Free English

Location: Saigon, Vietnam

After a 2-hour session teaching English to a Vietnamese professional, having established the teaching schedule to be 90 minutes everyday for the next 2 weeks, my teaching assistant and translator told me something I didn't see coming.

TheLoneRider: "I'm glad we had that sorted out."
Translator: "(sounding hesitant) uhmmm...(sounding awkward) ah....."
TheLoneRider: "What?"
Translator: "(nervous laugh) he-he"
TheLoneRider: "what?"
Translator: "I told him you're teaching for free!"

--- TheLoneRider

It's all good. The Vietnamese professional is also a friend. What I found funny was the awkward after-the-fact discomfort my teaching assistant had for unilaterally making that decision.
