Winegrower Cathy Corison handcrafts artisan Cabernet Sauvignon without compromise from great benchland vineyards between Rutherford and St. Helena in the Napa Valley. Farmed organically and grown on gravelly loam soils, the gnarly old veterans produce scant yields from a single vineyard, resulting in wines of uncommon concentration and refinement. They are juicy with blackberry and plum fruit, enhanced with a mineral note and violet perfume.
- consistent and impeccable balance
- complex wines that walk the fine line between power and elegance
- most concentrated and superbly ripened fruit
- uses traditional winemaking techniques
- uses only small French oak barrels
- three decades of wine making experience

Comments on Corison Wine:
Jancis Robinson(Aug 8, 2008) Corison Cabernet Sauvignon 2004 Napa Valley 18.5 Drink 2008-15...whereas Cathy Corison has barely to whisper. Very dark crimson. Then lovely spreading gorgeousness with fine tannins and apparent Cabernet Franc refresshment effect on the palate yet mellow, fully ripe HAPPY fruit. Great balance. This is not desperately intense or hot or massive or tannic, it's just so gentle and harmonnious. A fine reposte to high alcohol Cabs. 13.6%
Dan Berger(Jan 2006) Cathy Corison: Uncompromising in her commitment to Cabernets that have the stamp of terroir as well as their Napa roots...it's arguably the best cabernet in the Napa Valley.
Stephen Tanzer(May/Jun 2005) Good full ruby. Sweet aromas of cassis, blackberry, licorice and violet. Juicy and sweet, with excellent clarity of flavor. Bears a strong resemblance to the 2002. A firmly built wine, with excellent acidity and inner-mouth energy. Finishes with noteworthy persistence and subtlety of flavor.
Karen MacNeilLongtime Napa Valley winemaker Cathy Corison makes stunningly rich cabernet sauvignons that exude power and finesse simultaneously. The rich, deep, sensual cassis and black raspberry fruit, the velvety texture, the majestic structure of these wines are nothing short of incredible. When young, the fruit-packed wines are almost grapy in flavor, but give these beauties five or more years and the wine becomes astonishingly complex and irresistible.
