Headstand My yoga practice began in Sept 2001 in Toronto, Canada, with my first teacher Kiran Sohal, who comes from an Ashtanga lineage from India. After the first session, I already knew yoga would be my lifestyle choice. I continued to deepen my practice, completed my 200-hours Teacher-Training program, learned from every teacher I met, learned every style I've come across, read lots of yoga books, and traveled across Southeast Asia, teaching in hotels, parks, resorts and yoga studios.

Yoga acts as a nexus that pulls everything together into a seamless and optimized singularity - career, love life, fitness, spirituality, state of mind, etc. It's like a human Swiss Army Knife. Yoga instills a feeling of completeness and solidity within, and a healthy mental resolve to embrace the challenges of life.

Fast-forward to 2024, I can say my life has considerably improved through my continued practice, not only of traditional yoga but by developing a fusion with other established disciplines like biohacking, isometrics, ice baths, calisthenics, cardiovascular workouts, strength-training, age regression, vision therapy, core-ABS development, etc. With my yoga practice now, I remain strong, I don't get sick, my aging process slows down to a near-halt, and I feel connected to the universe at large.

What are Shat Kriyas?

Shat Kriyas are yogic purification practices for cleansing the system. In Hatha Yoga, this is given paramount importance, more importance than Yama and Niyama. They argue that before the body should even begin to practice yoga, the body should be cleansed and purified first. e.g. - before your race your car on a track, you have to ensure the track is clean, obstructed and can take the rigors of a race car. 8 Limbs of Yoga

What are they?

The practice of yoga has begun since time immemorial in India. But it was an oral tradition that was passed on from teacher to student. The sage Patangali, in an attempt to simplify yoga, codified the practice in what is now called the Yoga Sutras. In the sutras, he segmented yoga into 8 parts called the 8 Limbs of Yoga. The 8 limbs are supposed to be practiced in overlapping linear sequence - from moral grounding to ascencion.
