Description:
There are many prevailing myths about yoga. There is a mindset that yoga is that picture-perfect pose on Instagram. But some who can do these difficult poses are still angry and rebelling against a world they never made. Yoga classes are mostly focused on poses (asanas) only. Is that the be-all and end-all of yoga?

Let's dispel all that and see yoga from a different perspective - a yoga that allows you to hack life, to be strong, to be resilient from disease, to be harmonized with everyone, and to flow with life (instead of fighting it). The principles of yoga is a life-hacking philosophy and practice that everyone can use. We will explore this.

Teacher Gigit
Gigit has been practicing yoga for over 20 years, integrating other disciplines into his practice and applying them outside the mat to live life to its fullest. He walked away from the corporate world in 2004 and has lived life as a nomad by choice for almost a decade - homeless, little money, no property (except what's inside his backpack), and no steady source of income. But he has been meeting magnificent lives, living in hotels and resorts, being strong, disease-free, and forever young. Learn insights he gained on the open road, living life on the charity of this benevolent universe.

Session Flow:

  1. Introduction - What is yoga? Is it just Upward Dog and Downward Dog? What are the true benefits of yoga? How do you use yoga outside the mat? Just how powerful is the breath? What role does the mind play?
  2. Group Workout
    1. Awareness check - with timer
    2. 1 Yoga pose - knowing the elements that go into a yoga practice and how you can migrate this to a gym workout or even when walking in a mall
    3. Breathing - how do we breathe? Just how powerful is the breath? We practice the different breathing methods in a mindful, intentional way. How can we use the breath in any workout or any challenging life situation?
    4. Strong determination - it's easy to make the body strong. But how do you fortify the mind to make it non-reactive and keep it balanced?
    5. Meditation - this word has been bounced around. But what's the realistic goal? And what are the many ways to meditate?
  3. Q&A - people have pressing questions and concerns. We'll attempt to shed light on them
