LIFE HACKING using the principles of YOGA

Description:
There is a mindset that yoga is that picture-perfect pose on Instagram. Yoga practitioners of many years are still angry and rebelling against a world they never made. Yoga classes are mostly focused on poses (asanas) only. There are many prevailing myths about yoga.

Let's dispel all that and see yoga from a different perspective - a yoga that allows you to hack life, to be strong, to be resilient from disease, and to be harmonized with everyone and everything. The principles of yoga is a life-hacking philosophy and practice that everyone can use. We will explore this.

Speaker: GIGIT SULIT
Gigit has been practicing yoga for over 20 years, integrating other disciplines into his practice and applying them outside the mat to live life to its fullest. He walked away from the corporate world in 2004 and has been living life as a nomad by choice - homeless, little money, no property (except what's inside his backpack), no steady source of income, but he has been traveling the last 10 years, meeting magnificent lives, living in hotels and resorts, being strong, disease-free, and forever young. Learn insights he gained on the open road, living life on the charity of this benevolent universe.

Session Flow:

  1. Introduction - What is yoga? Is it just Upward Dog and Downward Dog? What are the true benefits of yoga? How do you use yoga outside the mat? What role does the mind play?
  2. Group Workout
    1. Awareness check - timer
    2. Simple Asana - knowing the elements that go into a practice. This can be migrated to a gym workout or even walking in a mall
    3. Breathing - how do we breath? Just how powerful is the breath? We practice Ujjayi, Kapalabhati, Nadi Shodan in a mindful, intentional way. How to use pranayama in any workout - e.g. kapalabhati on boat pose
    4. Strong determination - one asana to practice mindful non-reaction
    5. Meditation - the realistic goal
  3. Q&A - people have pressing questions and concerns. We'll attempt to shed light on them
