The Need to Meet

Not having fully recovered yet from my nose surgery, I'm still holding off from my regular workout (commuting by bike, weight and aerobic training). Fortunately, I'm stable enough to resume my twice-a-week yoga, which I started last Tuesday. The light workout today was great...a good start towards my regular routine.

What I find compelling is the need to have another conversation with my yogi. Like "Grasshopper" in the long running but now defunct TV series "Kung Fu", I am an impressionable student - eager to learn new insights about a discipline I honor. A date has been set for next week. I look forward to it with eager anticipation.

The Last Castle

The public library has a selection of newly released videos. Not bad for a week's borrowing for free. I was lucky to get The Last Castle. These videos are usually snapped fast. Robert Redford is one actor who doesn't make bad movies - money in the bank if you ask me. Like many of his movies, he plays a man of few words but every time he utters something, the words are bigger than life. Something someone of strong character and wisdom would say. Not unlike how you can imagine great leaders of our history have carried on. On those terms, I would put this movie along the likes of Tell Them Willie Boy is Here, Jeremiah Johnson, The Candidate, Brubaker and Havana.
