U Trade Hosts Online Trading Forum with Tony Herbosa and Roy Reyes

Location: Cebu Sports Club, Cebu City, Cebu (province), Philippines

Online Trading Forum
Straight from the BMW test drive, I was off to Cebu Sports Club for an online trading forum organized by U Trade, an online trading platform launched by UniCapital. It was refreshing to see familiar faces who I met just a week earlier during the party launch of U Trade at Tavolata - Adele, Michelle, Mr. Arguelles, etc. The presentors were the country's 2 foremost names in trading:

Roy Reyes
Roy specializes in swing trades - trades with a shelf life of a few days to a few months. He talked about specific trades, particular companies, all provding insight on how he picks securities and when he unloads. He pointed out ripe opportunities in the market.

Tony Herbosa
Tony resonated more with me with his talk about going with the Flow as the universe unravels for him. Perhaps too spacey for some, but in my jargon, he's dialed-in. He sees repeating patterns in nature and rides the wave. He specifically identifies powerful personalities, who, in his assessment, already 'get it' - Manny Pangilinan and Andrew Tan. He warns never to bet against these people. Like him (inferred), these people have an uncanny way of feeling for the market. We're not talking balance sheets and financial statements alone, but an instinct for the next winner. He discussed MegaWorld in detail - the chart swings, when to have purchased more, when to stay steady, etc. Impressive that from a capital of P300K, he was able to roll it to P27M in just 8 years, timing the market on when to go securities and when to convert these shares into real estate properties while leveraging off on other people's money. He talked about capitalizing on chaos - that while other people see chaos, he sees opportunities given away by repeating patterns. After his presentation, my mindset was, 'never bet against Tony'. I like this guy. I wish he was there to mentor me while I was white-knuckling Nortel...back in the day.

Ending Thoughts
I notice something interesting shaping up in the last week or so. Fast cars (BMWs)? Online trading? These are relics from my distant past - archival footnotes of what I walked away from. I'm now a nomadic renunciate leading a monkish life with no money, no home and no destination (by choice). I just want life to unravel for me as I ride mass transit on loose change. Why are these things making a presence on my immediate horizon? I enjoy my lifestyle now, but as good as it gets, I'm not attached to it. I'll go anywhere life takes me - life in the mountains (I lived in Sagada for 2 years), life on a beach (lived extensively on Surigao's coastline, Coron, Romblon, etc.), city life (Cebu, Manila, New York, Toronto), or life in the fast lane.
